Well worth the wait, Hornby Bassett-Lowke’s Peckett 0-4-0 Saddle Class locomotives have eventually arrived. This new series finished in maroon or green are now available from stock. Perfect for shutting and a wide range of model railway operations these new locomotives will be perfectly at home with any O gauge layout.

Hornby Bassett-Lowke’s new series of gloss finished N Class Maunsells are now available. Produced in three separate liveries that cover SECR pre-grouping, Southern Railway and British Railways eras, these great looking locomotives make a handsome addition to any layout. What makes this release so appealing is the huge variety of highly appropriate coaching and rolling stock to run with these workman-like and versatile locomotives.

Due to the incredible success of the 2-3-1E Chapelon Pacific series, MTH have announced a third production run of the very popular and iconic French locomotive. Produced in the same liveries as before, the Chapelon also has a new series of 50cm length, plastic bodied five coach sets. The sets include a blue Orient Express set, a brown Orient Express set, a green SNCF set and a Deutsche Reichsbahn passenger set. Priced at £550.00 these different combinations also come with a separate add-on five coach passenger set as well.

A wonderful time beckons for Great Western Railway aficionados with ACE Trains announcing new deliveries of one of the most iconic, evocative and attractive looking British built locomotive that was ever built - the GWR 4-6-0 Castle Class. Forever associated with Welsh, West Country and to a lesser extent West Midlands crack express city services such as the ‘Bristolian and the Cheltenham Flyer’, these wonderful and extremely powerful mainline locomotives conjure up very vivid memories of the romance of steam travel. And it wasn’t just the intercity traffic that the Castles were remembered for but also the ocean liner, boat train, holiday resort specials and the high speed newspaper and specialist freight delivery services to the far south west that lasted right up until the mid 1960s before diesel modernisation rapidly took hold in British Rail’s Western Region.
The new ACE E/7 Series 2 GWR Castle Class is a superb looking locomotive, British designed and made from a heavy-weight die cast brass construction. The ACE Castle locomotive comes with a new single mechanism and is available in both two and three rail options in GWR and BR Western Region Brunswick Green liveries and also BR early experimental green. Orders are being taken now from Shamrock Trains at a highly competitive price of £595.00 (+P&P).

If you’ve ever run Hornby Dublo or Wrenn you’ll always remember the little Gresley N2 0-6-0 tank locomotives that made up so many of the suburban railway or goods sets. ACE Trains have now recreated this wonderful little number in gauge O which will be equally at home running on two as well as traditional three rail layouts. With the ever increasing array of tinplate rolling stock available from ACE, Bassett-Lowke and Darstaed together with Darstaed’s many variations of non-corridor suburban coaching stock, this little chap will never short of work. Extremely good value at £395.00 (+P&P).

The halcyon days of pre-nationalisation working is captured by a new colourful series of private owner vans from ACE Trains. Why not recreate the earlier nostalgic litho-printed tinplate models of 1930s Bassett-Lowke and Hornby O Gauge? The new ACE series come in sets of three vans with an improved new wheel bearing system and standard drop link couplings. These really shouldn’t be missed at £110.00 (+P&P).
